Office 365 Outlook Linkedin Update

There is yet another great update from Microsoft and the Office 365 team. The new Outlook on the web will be soon rolling out an update that will allow you to email Linkedin connections.

This new feature will enhance the way you connect and collaborate with people outside of your organization. This update will now allow you to send emails to many of your LinkedIn connections just by typing their name in the “To” line when you are composing a new message.

In order to be able to access this feature, you will need to securely connect your Linkedin account with your Microsoft 365 or Office 365 account. When you connect your account it will share your basic info such as your profile, your contacts, and your calendar. This will help improve your daily experience with both Linkedin and Office 365. As always you can chose your settings and change items like including who can see your email address. You can learn more about privacy and settings by clicking here.

If you’re looking for this feature, be aware that you will only see this feature if you or your organization are using the new Outlook on the web, or your organization has received an update that includes these capabilities and if you have connected your Microsoft 365 or Office 365 account with Linkedin.

Be aware that these features are being added gradually, so some of these features you see may differ from what has been announced by Microsoft.  Microsoft will be gradually rolling out this to targeted release customers who are using the new Outlook on the web click in early January, and the roll out will be completed worldwide by the end of April 2019. This rollout is excluded from Office 365 subscriptions in special cloud environments.

With this update, you will not have to do anything to prepare for this change. Although you don’t need to do anything for this update, you may consider updating your user training, and notifying your Helpdesk.
